MicroCity was the first wood-concrete composite building with DELTABEAM® Slim-Floor structures.

In Neuchâtel, Switzerland, a building dedicated to microtechnology has been constructed using Peikko's DELTABEAM® composite beams and a wood-concrete composite slab system. The combination of two hybrid prefabricated systems ensured an efficient construction process.

The Swiss town of Neuchâtel can look back on a long tradition in watch manufacturing. As a result, many well-known and important companies from this sector are headquartered here. In 2010, the Canton of Neuchâtel began constructing a 2,500 m² building for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).

The building is called MicroCity and totalled around 60 million Swiss francs. It houses several offices and research facilities. The building was regarded as the first step towards becoming one of the largest competence centres for microtechnology in Europe.
