Its design, in harmony with nature, resembles that of a small city in which the different buildings are intended for the Foundation’s multiple activities. Buildings include individual accommodation to host writers in residence, a dining room, a lounge for relaxation, a vast library for documentation, an adaptable space for exhibitions and an auditorium for performances of all types. Maison de l'Ecriture Montricher is one of the most emblematic buildings in Western Switzerland.
